Microsoft unveils the Nokia 216 and it has a selfie camera with flash

Nokia is a name that most of us are hoping to see it appear again as a smartphone, but Microsoft isn’t quite don yet with the Nokia brand just yet though it has stopped producing new Lumia phones. Meet the Nokia 216, a feature phone that has both a front and rear camera, and there’s even a flash on the selfie shooter if you want your selfies to look brighter in low light, which makes me wonder if Microsoft has recently been duped with recent smartphone trends. In terms of specs, the Nokia 216 has a rather standard 2.4″ QVGA resolution display, both of its cameras take VGA resolution photos, while it has Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM technology, a 3.5mm headphone jack, MicroSD card support and a 1020mAh battery.

The phone runs on Nokia’s feature phone Series 30+ operating system, which will Java apps that can be downloaded via the Opera Mobile Store, users will be able to download a free Gameloft game every month, while you still get access to some Microsoft services such as Bing Search and MSN Weather, the phone however doesn’t have WiFi or 3G onboard so you will have to live with EDGE speeds when using these online services. The Nokia 216 Dual SIM variant will be available on 21 October and can be had for an affordable RM169 price tag, it is available in black, grey and blue colors.
