Microsoft Surface Duo 2 now official – Snapdragon 888 and new Surface Slim Pen 2

Microsoft has unveiled their latest Surface Duo 2 foldable smartphone – which sports slight improvements across the board. 

The phone sports two 5.8-inch displays which combines to give you a larger 8.3-inch PixelSense AMOLED panel. Together, the display outputs at 2688×1892 resolution, have a 90Hz refresh rate and 800 nits of peak brightness, and is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. 

The phone itself doesn’t look all that different – the phone now sports what looks like an aluminium hinge which is capable of displaying notifications. 

Under the hood, the phone runs on a Snapdragon 888 chipset, and comes with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. There’s a 4,449mAh battery powering the device, plus the phone supports up to 23W of fast charging – however, you’ll need to get the 23W adapter separately. 

For imaging, there’s a 12MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto camera, and a 16MP ultrawide shooter. Like most flagships today, you can record videos at up to 4K 60FPS. 

What sets the Surface Duo 2 apart from its competitors is its support for the new Surface Slim Pen 2 stylus – it attached magnetically to the phone in order to charge. 

The phone is priced from $1,500 (about RM6,285), but there is no word on whether it will arrive in Malaysia. But you can stay tuned on our website as we bring you more updates.
