Microsoft launches new Surface Pro X, Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3

Following a slew of launches this past two months, Microsoft is now taking the spotlight with the introduction of three additions to their Surface line-up. Launched during the event in New York are the Surface Pro X, Surface Pro 7, and the Surface Laptop 3.

Starting with the cream of the crop, the Microsoft Surface Pro  X – it’s a 13-inch 2-in-1 that that boasts a thickness of 5.3mm at its thinnest point. It supports a detachable keyboard that has a garage to slot your Surface Slim pen.

What’s also interesting is that this tablet is powered by a Microsoft SQ1 Arm chipset, a custom version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon. It comes in two memory configurations – 8GB and 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 512GB of storage via a removable SSD. The Surface Pro X is priced from $999 (RM4,185) and will launch this November 5.

Moving on to the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 – this is the more affordable option since it’s the more conventional Surface device. You get a high-res 12.3 Pixel Sense display with the more traditional 10th-Gen Intel Core processor (up to i7-1065G7) with up to 16GB RAM as well as up to 1TB of SSD storage.

Microsoft claims that it also has up to 10.5 hours of battery life and it supports WiFi 6. Usual I/O ports are present – a USB C, one USB A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a connector port and Type Cover port as well as a microSD card reader. The Surface Pro 7 is priced from $749 (RM3,138) and is available October 22.

Lastly we pivot to the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 – this is your more conventional laptop rather than a 2-in-1. It’s available in two size variants – 13-inches and 15-inches.

The sizes matter (ayy) because the 13-inch variants are powerd by 10th-Gen Intel Core processors, while the 15-inch variants come with 3rd-Gen AMD Ryzen chips. Both size variants support up to 16GB RAM as well as up to 1TB of SSD storage. I/O ports are your standard affair – one USB C, one USB A, one headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port. No card reader here unfortunately.

The Surface Laptop 3 is priced from $999 (RM4,185) and will launch this October 22. Local pricing and availability is not available yet, but you can get more information about the devices here.
