Microsoft 365 Personal and Family now in Malaysia – new updates and no price change

The Microsoft Office 365 subscription offering has officially been renamed to Microsoft 365 and as per usual, both Personal and Family options are available. We already know this was happening, but it’s the updated prices that we didn’t know before; now, we’re glad to report that they remain unchanged at RM27 per month (RM269/year) for Microsoft 365 Personal, and RM36 per month (RM359/year) for Microsoft 365 Family. One of the newest features added to the software suite is Microsoft Family Safety which is a mobile app that provides a holistic parent-child monitoring experience which includes alert notifications and location sharing when a member departs or arrives at a location. There’s also an option for parents to monitor their children’s screen time and, as Microsoft puts it, understand how your kids are spending their time across their Xbox, Windows PCs and Android phones. There’s also the new improvements made to the AI-powered Microsoft Editor – which is made with writers in mind. One of the newest additions is the Rewrite Suggestions feature that lets you highlight a sentence and the software will offer suggestions to rephrase your sentence. There’s also the similarity checker for students and academics that helps with checking your content for plagiarism and make citations easier to insert into your paper. PowerPoint is also getting some love with the all-new Presenter Coach that uses AI to ‘fine-tune- your presentation skills – it recognizes speech patterns and if you’re talking too fast, slow or saying “umm” too much, the AI software will let you know. There are also refinements made to Outlook as well as an expansion to Play My Emails on Android, where Cortana is used to read-out your mails. There will also now be Microsoft Teams for consumers stay organzied with your family by uploading files, tasks, manage grocery lists and much more. These are just a few of the new changes that are coming to Microsoft 365, and they look to improve quality of life quite significantly in both the desktop and mobile spheres.
