Mi Band 2 to be delayed by a month

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun proudly wore the Mi Band 2 out in the public, and even struck a pose for the camera, flaunting the yet to be released Xiaomi fitness band. Unfortunately, Lei Jun has announced some bad news regarding the device on Chinese micro blogging site Weibo.

According to the Xiaomi CEO’s post on Weibo, the highly anticipated Mi Band 2 will be delayed by a month, the reason being production issues with the device. The Mi Band 2 is set to be announced by Xiaomi at their May 10th event, five days from now. The leaked image of Lei Jun wearing the Mi Band 2 shows the fitness band with an additional display from its previous generation, including a button for navigation as well.

Slated to be announced alongside the Mi Band 2 will be the Xiaomi Max, which is rumored to sport a colossal 6.4-inch display alongside some pretty impressive specs. Production issues are pretty common in the tech industry, hence we will still be expecting the Mi Band 2 to unveil itself next week, but Xiaomi will likely hold the sale of the device. What do you think?
