Messenger allows you to build a Spotify playlist with your friends

Spotify has collaborated with Facebook to launch a new feature in the Messaging app that will allow users to create a shared playlist and allow them to share it with other friends to listen or add new songs. This is an updated feature from the extension they added last year.

Both companies want to promote collaborations among their users as prior to this, users can only share songs to one another without any extra features. They also mention that friends that you share these playlists with do not need to be subscribers to Spotify, as Messenger will allow these users to add songs using the messenger app. Spotify said that this feature will be perfect for those of you going on a road trip and would want to collaborate and build a playlist for that trip. To activate this feature, users would need to tap the + icon in Messenger, select Spotify, and simply start adding songs.

Currently, this feature is only made available outside of Malaysia, but seeing as we love to take trips and vacations, let’s hope that both the companies realise this and bring this feature to us soon
