Meizu to launch phone boasting fast charging tech

Meizu has released a teaser image regarding its upcoming handset which is set for an unveiling a day after Valentine’s Day, February 15th, less than a week from now. The teaser image was uploaded along with a post on Meizu’s official Weibo account, consisting of a 3:00pm local launch time as well in Beijing, China.

According to the image, Meizu seems to emphasize on the phone’s fast charging technology, which could be something revolutionary in the company’s eyes. GizmoChina reports that given the overwhelming leaks surrounding the Meizu M5S, it is likel that the handset will see the light of day this coming February 15th. Although fast charging seems to be the highlight, rumors suggest that the Meizu M5S will feature the Chinese manufacturer’s existing mCharge technology.

Other specs for the mid range device include a 5.2-inch display, a MediaTek MT6753 chipset, memory configurations of 2GB, 3GB and even 4GB of onboard RAM. Storage options are offered with the RAM configs respectively at 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The phone is rumored to sport a 13MP/5MP pair of rear and front cameras, and it will pack a 2,930mAh battery.
