Meizu Pro 6s announced with some minor upgrades

Earlier this year, the Meizu Pro 6 was launched, making it the world’s first known smartphone with a deca-core processor. Like most Chinese OEM’s and their handset sequels, Meizu has reiterated the Pro 6, with a newer model as the year comes to a close. The Meizu Pro 6s has been announced, and the phone carries several improvements over its predecessor.

First things first, the Meizu Pro 6s sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display at Full HD 1080p resolution. The display has support for Meizu’s Apple rip off 3D Press technology. Underneath the hood, the phone retains the same deca core MediaTek Helio X25 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz seen in the Pro 6, plus 4GB of RAM and 64GB of non expandable storage. The Meizu Pro 6s features a 12MP rear camera with a Sony IMX386 image sensor, equipped with Axis OIS, with an aperture of f/2.0. On the front of the handset is the same 5MP selfie camera, also with f/2.0 aperture.

The previously launched Meizu Pro 6 packed a rather lacksture battery, more specifically a battery whose capacity did not match the phone’s processing power. This time, the Meizu Pro 6s carries a larger 3,060mAh battery compared to the 2,560 mAh battery in the Pro 6. Also seen on the handset is the same USB Type-C port at the bottom. Back to front panel of the device is the mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor, which can unlock in 0.2 seconds.

The Meizu Pro 6s will be available with a 2,699 CNY price tag, making it a tad cheaper than its predecessor’s 64GB storage model, but whether or not it is worth the upgrade remains to be seen. What do you think?
