MediaTek is debuting its first gaming chipset called the Helio G90 on July 30

MediaTek’s new chipset called the Helio G90 will be making an appearance at the end of this month in Shanghai. The Helio G90 is not only the first of its series but also a gaming-centric processor.

Since the chipset is made for gaming purposes, it’s only logical to expect it to be equipped with a better GPU. According to reports, the Helio P90 will be a 12nm chipset integrated with a PowerVR GM9446 GPU. In addition, DroidShout mentioned that this chipset could be rather similar to the company’s current Helio P90 chipset.

MediaTek has four series of chipsets now, including the latest G series. Its X series are made for flagship products while its A series caters for midrange devices. As for its P series, we’ve been spotting them in Realme and also vivo’s phones. The G series is made for gaming phones and perhaps it could be seen in the near future.

On the other hand, MediaTek isn’t the only one who came up with a new chipset. Qualcomm also released a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, an even stronger chipset that will support heavy tasks with ease. We’re already expecting this chipset to be integrated into the ASUS ROG Phone 2, allegedly launching next month.
