Logitech will acquire ASTRO Gaming to penetrate the console gaming market

Logitech has just announced today that they have agreed to acquire ASTRO Gaming, a console gaming brand with a history of producing award-winning headsets for professional gamers and enthusiasts. Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech G, mention that this would complement Logitech G’s focus on PC gaming and this would make gameplay even more fun for gamers everywhere.

Jordan Reiss, Co-Founder and President of ASTRO added that they have always held Logitech G products in the highest regard and they are excited to join forces to bring ASTRO’s brand strength and combining it with Logitech G’s unrivalled technology and global distribution network, they are looking forward to bring their products to even more gamers around the world. ASTRO is best known for its iconic A40 and A50 headsets designed for pro gamers and core enthusiasts. They also recently introduced the A10, to further extend their reach in the console headset market, offering the premium headset at a more accessible price point.

Logitech will purchase ASTRO for $85 million in cash and the acquisition is expected to close in early August. With this acquisition, Logitech will be entering the console gaming market to accelerate the growth of their gaming business.
