LG sets launch event date a day before MWC 2017

With just a little over a month to go before MWC 2017 kicks off at Barcelona, most manufacturers probably couldn’t catch breaks after CES 2017 at Las Vegas approximately two weeks ago. As the going gets tough, most companies will be vying for attention on the days prior to MWC, and LG is one of them.

LG has blasted out invites to the members of the press, setting a February 26th date for its event with a “See More, Play More” tagline in the invite poster. This definitely indicates more than just a single product that will be unveiled at the press event next month. The upcoming LG G6 is likely to make an appearance at the South Korean manufacturer’s event, as part of its annual flagship smartphone refresh. Rumor has it that LG will be ditching the modular design seen on last year’s G5, as it wasn’t exactly well received by consumers in 2016.

Two other play toys are slated to make an appearance at the LG event as well – Google’s flagship smartwatches, the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style. Both these smart wearables have rumors coming fresh from every corner of the media, said to feature handwriting recognition and the integration of Google Assistant. Both watches will also be launched with Android Wear 2.0 up and running from in the box, since the new wearable software has been tipped for a February 9th launch.

Which device are you more excited for? The LG G6 or one of its new Android Wear smartwatches?
