LG reignites the tablet game with the G Pad III 8.0

The Android tablet scene hasn’t been really happening for a while now, and LG looks to get the ball rolling again with their refresh of the LG G Pad. Not to worry though, LG isn’t keen on manufacturing huge tablets with the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab View and the Apple iPad Pro, henc the LG G Pad III 8.0.

Largely resembling the LG G Pad II 8.3 from last year, the G Pad III 8.0 sports a more typically sized 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200. Underneath the hood is a mid range Snapdragon 617 processor with 2GB of RAM 32GB of internal storage, expandable via the micro SD slot. This tablet boasts a full-sized USB port as well, for plugging in flash drives, keyboards, mice and other USB accessories of that sort so there’s the possibility of expanding your storage on top of the 128GB maximum capacity of the micro SD card slot. It can also be used to charge other devices if you ever intend to do so.

As usual, tablets don’t emphasize too much when it comes to cameras. On the G Pad III 8.0 we’re looking at a 8MP/5MP pair of rear and front facing cameras. Powering the 8-inch tablet is a 4,800mAh battery, which should be enough for its processing power. The device will be shipped running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The LG G Pad III 8.0 is available in both indigo black and white colors and is currently available in South Korea and a couple of Canadian carriers, carrying a price tag of $280 (RM1,151.15). Till then, stay tuned!
