Wearing face masks has become a norm, but we all know that it’s never comfortable — especially when you wear it for long hours. LG will be addressing the problem with its new PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier that will be introduced at IFA 2020.
LG Puricare combines air purifier and face mask in one
The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier solves two problems at once — it can be reused unlike disposable masks, and can supply fresh air to the user wearing the mask. “The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier employs two H13 HEPA filters, similar to the filters used in the company’s home air purifier products,” said LG in its press release. There’s even UV-LED lights that disinfects and perhaps can help reduce the possibility of getting mask acne.
Uses battery and can last up to 8 hours
The LG face mask is also battery-powered; on low mode, it can run for eight hours but on high mode, it can only run on two. This means you’ll need to carry around an extra mask if you’re planning to be out the whole day, or just in case you forgot to fully charge the mask before leaving the house.
Don’t worry though; the LG ThinQ mobile app will notify you when you need to replace your mask filters. This app is available on both iOS and Android devices. On a side note, LG appears to be more pro-active in creating devices that are suitable for the current COVID-19 situation. Just a while back, the company introduced a pair of earbuds that comes with a self-cleaning charging case.
