LG plans to sell 65-inch TVs that rolls up like a poster in 2019

LG Electronics Inc or better known as LG are in plan to sell big screen television (TV) by next year that can be rolled up and put away like a poster in an effort to revive the company’s business.

According from an inside source, who wished to be anonymous, has stated that LG envisioned the product to be a 65 inch TV that will retract automatically at the touch of a button alike a garage door and it is said that the TV will sport organic light-emitting diode or OLED screens, which produce crisper images and fold more easily than traditional LCD or liquid-crystal display panels.

The company has already showcased the rollable screen technology earlier this year but will mark its first commercial release in 2019. However, when asked to comment on the matter, LG declined to respond.

In addition to that, LG is also preparing to make its mark on the fifth-generation or also known as 5G technology, which is expected to revolutionize mobile internet and power up a plethora of gadgets from home appliances to cars. “LG will most likely to unveil its first 5G smartphone at next year’s Mobile World Congress”, said the anonymous. “US telecommunications giant Sprint Corp announced in August it’s working with LG to bring a device that runs on 5G to the US in the first half. Plans for its own home market of Korea remain unclear,” the anonymous added.

Other than that, there isn’t much told about the LG rollable TV other than the fact that it will be introduced officially into the market in 2019. Till then, we shall wait for more info from LG.
