The Zuk Z1 has finally made its way to India with a rebrand, as mentioned in a teaser last week. The handset will be known to the Indian market as the Lenovo Z1, “powered by Zuk”, a wise choice to do so since Lenovo is a more familar brand and turns out to be the parent company of Chinese ZUK. The Lenovo Z1 is the first crowd sourced launch of a device worldwide.
The Lenovo Z1 boasts a metal body, which is pretty standard for smartphones to add a tinge premium to them. It sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an old flagship processor – a 2.5GHz clocked Snapdragon 801 processor alongside 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which sadly isn’t expandable. The Lenovo Z1 features a 13MP primary camera with Sony’s IMX214 image sensor plus OIS, coupled with an also impressive 8MP front facing selfie shooter. The handset also packs a fingerprint sensor beneath the home button on the front, plus a massive 4,100mAh battery to power the whole package. The Z1 also comes with a USB Type-C port, ideal for future-proofing. On the software side, the Lenovo Z1 runs Android 5.1.1 with custom ROM Cyanogen OS, which will receive Android Marshmallow in the future.
As mentioned earlier, the Lenovo Z1 will be available exclusively to the Indian market, and will be available for purchase on Amazon India starting next Thursday (May 19) at 2PM fir Rs. 13,499 (RM818.44). Catch the launch video below:
