Lenovo launches a slew of laptops for 2016

Lenovo has had a very busy day as the company has launched a ton of new products for all of its laptop/tablet line. From the Thinkpad to the YOGA to the Ideapad, Lenovo has revealed their line up for 2016.

The first key product that Lenovo revealed during the presentation is the YOGA 900s. Stated to be the world’s thinnest Intel Core i convertible laptop at just 12.8 mm thin, the YOGA 900s is capable of supporting a 6th-gen Intel Core i7 processor. It will come with up to 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 256GB PCIe SSD, integrated Intel HD Graphics and a battery that is capable of lasting 10.5 hours under QHD video playback. As the YOGA 900s is a flagship entry, the laptop itself will sport the signature watch band hinges, allowing the laptop to be folded into tablet mode. The pricing of the YOGA 900s will begin from RM 5,999 and is available now.

Next on the list of laptops is the ThinkPad X1 Tablet. With a potential configuration that includes an Intel Core m7 vPro processor, 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and a 512GB SSD, the ThinkPad X1 Tablet is more or less Lenovo’s answer to Microsoft’s Surface. Just like the Surface, the ThinkPad X1 Tablet comes with detachable keyboard (bundled together) as well as a stylus (sold seperately), allowing you to use it as a traditional laptop or a tablet. Besides the keyboard and stylus, the ThinkPad X1 Tablet will also come with its own set of modules that would allow you to further customise it, giving this device a huge amount of flexibility.

Also showcased during the event was the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Described as one of the most refined and elegant notebooks available today, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is an ultrabook that supports up to an Intel Core i7 vPro processor, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, and has a battery life of up to 11 hours. Other than that, much like the YOGA series, the X1 Carbon can also be flipped into tablet mode. It will also come with its own series of accessories to complement the device itself.

Of course, that isn’t all of the devices that Lenovo has shown off as the company did display a ton of new products at the event, ranging from consumer-centric laptops, to enterprise-centric servers.
