Lenovo introduces the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube compact gaming PC

Lenovo is starting to make its move towards the gaming bandwagon, as we have reviewed the IdeaCentre Y900 Gaming PC previously, it is a very decent machine. The company today introduced the all new IdeaCentre Y710 Cube, a compact gaming PC that will allow easy transport with a handle built on the top of it chassis, its cube form factor measures 15-litres and weighs 7.4kg, which is considerably lightweight for a gaming PC.

In terms of specs, the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube has an attractive set of hardware to attract the average consumer within its compact form factor, it is powered by a Core i7 6700K processor mated to 8GB of DDR4 RAM, the machine’s RAM can be increased to 32GB of DDR4 RAM with two RAM slots on its ITX motherboard and comes with a GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition graphics card, the Y710 Cube also has Killer Doubleshot Pro LAN and WiFi included to ensure a lag free online gaming experience. Although the machine supports dual storage, Lenovo is only offering a 2TB 7200RPM hard drive in the retail unit and the company has intentions of offering a better specced model in the near future, gamers can also choose to upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1080 as the chassis can fit in a two slot GPU. Also, gamers who are used to Xbox wireless controllers would be glad that the Y710 Cube has a built-in Xbox wireless adapter that you can use to pair it with your Xbox controller, Lenovo has also thrown in a Xbox controller in the box as well.

On the other hand, Lenovo has also taken the opportunity to announce its partnership with Garena and Intel in hosting the League of Champions gaming event in Bangkok, and also partnering with Microsoft to be platinum sponsors at ESL One Genting, both events are set to play League of Legends and DOTA 2 respectively. The Ideacentre Y710 Cube is currently available at all Lenovo authorized dealers and can be previewed at its Game On event at Plaza Low Yat from 14th to 20th November, it retails at RM6,099 and comes with a 3-year onsite warranty.
