Latest Photoshop update now supports the use of Microsoft’s Surface Dial

The Surface Dial accessory that Microsoft showed off was initially being utilized by just a handful of applications but the company did mention that they will be opening the support of the dial to more applications like Photoshop. With the latest update on Photoshop, the image editing software now supports the Surface Dial, taking it further than just the basic zoom options.

Even if the dial is now supported, it still is limited to manipulating the brush tool allowing you to select the size, opacity, hardness, flow and smoothing by rotating the dial. Adobe has not informed us if they plan to update the dial to support more tools that Photoshop has to offer, as tend to use the other tools more than the brush tool. However, it is a step forward for the Surface Dial which is more than capable of holding to other shortcuts compared to just one too.

Another app called Sketchable, which has support for the Surface Dial can already do more things compared to what can be done in Photoshop. This could also be just a trial that Adobe wants to take to see the response towards the dial
