Latest Chrome update for Android will shorten shared links and add an in-built ad blocker

Have you ever pasted a Google Image link to someone on Whatsapp and released that the link spanned the enter screen of your phone? Well, Google finally realized that it is a nuisance and has changed the way links will appear when shared.

In the new Chrome 64 update, Google has changed the links so users will only see the primary link rather a long tracking string. They realized that users do not need such long links with all the tracking information included as it serves no purpose to users and is really annoying when the link covers up or pushes all the content in a message to the top leaving users with just the middle to bottom part of that lengthy link. There are third-party apps that will assist you in cutting the length of the links, but that would mean you will have to take an extra step to send the link to your friends, which makes the share link button redundant.

The URL shortener is not the only feature that is coming to the Chrome update, a new inbuilt ad-blocking will also arrive with the new update that is said to remove ads that are annoying or inappropriate for users.
