Is Touch ID finally coming back to iPhones?

On-screen fingerprint sensors have always been a common feature seen on Android smartphone brands such as Samsung, Huawei, and Oppo for many years. Apple, however, is doing the opposite as they removed the Touch ID

This action has of course sparked some debate among Apple users as the Face ID might not be the most convenient way to unlock our phones now, especially during the pandemic.

If you can relate, this is good news for you as reports are claiming that Apple has plans on including an on-screen fingerprint technology for the iPhone 14 which is set to release sometime in 2023.

Other than the on-screen Touch ID, have also stated that the device will be displaying the small notch seen on current iPhones; meanwhile the Pro variant will sport a punch-hole cutout yet another feature we’ve seen on Android phones already.

Apple sometimes take existing technologies and add their own spin on it, making them fit the ecosystem better. It’ll be interesting to see how the company plans on reinventing these features.
