iPhone 7 Plus explodes after dropping from 2 feet up

Since the unfortunate fate of the Galaxy Note 7 a.k.a. the phablet which had battery overheating issues, leading to numerous cases of explosions and fire incidents, people from around the world have been reporting explosions of their handsets as well, and by that we mean their non-Galaxy Note 7 handsets. While we admit that phone explosions have been blown out of proportion by a tad bit, we also do think that you have the right to know that another “7” device has experienced a similar fate.

An iPhone 7 Plus user from Yunnan China happened to drop their iPhone 7 Plus from a height which is said to be of 2 feet, and the user was not only greeted with a couple of dings, scratches or dents which is most likely the outcome of dropping the iPhone 7 Plus from a height as mentioned. On top of that, the iPhone 7 Plus has reportedly combusted with fumes coming out of it, damaging the phone as a whole with its screen shattered and popped out. Based on the above image from the owner of the fateful iPhone, the iPhone 7 Plus definitely suffered to a point of no return, unsalvageable.

This fire incident definitely isn’t the first for an Apple iPhone. Just last month, an iPhone 7 cost an Australian user his car, which was destroyed after his iPhone 7 caught fire. A week before that, another explosion occurred in China as well, while the user was filming a video with the iPhone 7, sustaining minor injuries as a result of the explosion. Possibly the fate of a “7” device? There were multiple cases of iPhone 6’s and 6s’ which suffered the same fate.

Whether or not those incidents are just the one in a million sort, we do hope that the world will still be a safe place to live in with our mobile devices. What do you think?
