iPhone 16e now available in Malaysia

Want to upgrade your aging iPhone SE to an affordable one with Apple Intelligence? The iPhone 16e has officially gone on sale in Malaysia today, this entry-model iPhone has a few things to impress that makes it quite a good upgrade from the iPhone SE.

The iPhone 16e is powered by the Apple A18 chip that also powers the iPhone 16, which is necessary to power Apple Intelligence, it features a 6.1-inch OLED screen with 60Hz refresh rate and the classic notch from the iPhone 14, the iPhone 16e also has the same Action button as its higher end siblings that lets you perform customized actions.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16e features the company’s very first custom 5G modem known as the C1, which is claimed to be the most power efficient 5G chip but lacks the support for mmWave networks, this shouldn’t affect Malaysians as 5G networks here don’t use that.

Apple claims the iPhone 16e to feature an all-day battery life with up to 26 hours of video playback time, it supports 20W wired charging over USB-C but when it comes to wireless charging, the phone doesn’t support MagSafe charging and is limited to 7.5W Qi wireless charging.

With a single 48MP Fusion Camera, the iPhone 16e is still able to perform a 2x optical zoom with an in-sensor zoom technique, while it supports up to 4K 60 fps video recording with Dolby Vision HDR support, users can also opt to take photos in 24MP resolution that allows it for creative crops in edits.

The iPhone 16e is available in storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, it is priced at RM2999, RM3499 and RM4499 respectively, it comes in colors of Black and White.
