iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max launched: Comes with big camera improvements

Alongside the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini, Apple has also launched the larger iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max models too.

The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch display while the Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch screen with a 2778×1284 resolution. Both panels are Super Retina XDR displays so you get the same sharpness and colour pop typical of a Retina display.

The Pro and Pro Max models come with a stainless-steel border along with a glass back. There are new colours for these models too – there’s Gold, Pacific Blue, Silver and Graphite.

Cameras are the name of the game for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max – the former comes with a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 12MP wide shooter, and a 12MP telephoto lens; the latter has the same setup but it has an extra LiDAR lens for depth perception and AR.

With the Pro Max model, Apple says that it’s packed a sensor that 47% larger than before which allows the phone to be 87% better at low-light photography. There’s also Apple ProRAW which mixes in a bit of computational processing of images, while offering the RAW format professionals want.

When it comes to videography, the phones are capable of recording at 4K 60fps, plus with 10-bit HDR and Dolby Vision HDR output.

Under the hood is the Apple A14 chipset that supports 5G connectivity. Both phones come with 6GB RAM as standard and will pack at least 128GB of internal storage.

The iPhone 12 is priced from RM4,899 while the iPhone 12 Pro Max will set you back at least RM5,299. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Pro start this October 16 and will ship this October 23, while the Pro Max can be pre-ordered starting this November 6; visit Apple’s website here to learn more.
