AMD has got Intel shaking in its boots when they launched the Ryzen Threadripper to combat the highest-end Intel processor at the time. AMD was probably confident with the performance of the processor, that they packaged the Threadripper in very fancy boxes that stood out. Looks like it paid off because they probably produced the best workstation processor ever.
But Intel is not going to keep licking their wounds, they will be responding with the 9th Generation Intel processors starting with the Core i9-9900K and i7-9700K processors. So far little is known about the processor but in a recent listing on Amazon which was removed, we know how the packaging looks like. The processors will be packed into a semi-transparent dodecahedron, possibly due to peer pressure from how AMD packages their Threadripper processors. Other than that, the listing also states that it will come with 8-cores and 16-threads with speeds up to 5.0GHz. It also supports overclocking and will be priced at $582.50 (RM2413.12).
