Intel is in the final stages of releasing an 8-core and 22-core processor

Intel and AMD’s race for the best and greatest processor is a never-ending battle. AMD announced their new processors and the Threadripper 2 processor which is even more of a beast than the first generation. Now, it looks like Intel is prepared to release their 8-core Coffee Lake processor as well as a 22-core high-end desktop CPU for its X299 chipset.

The processors are expected to arrive in September, this news was discovered by a Japanese tech site, PC Watch. This might just put them on par with the highest offering from AMD, but they are probably not prepared for the 32-core Threadripper processor that will release in the coming months. AMD has asserted their dominance on the mainstream market with their 8-core Ryzen 7 2700X processor which beats the 6-core Intel Core i7-8700K in the multi-threaded task. However, when it comes to high-end desktop market, the 18-core Core i9-7980XE processor still remains king.

Looks like Intel might just be able to take back the crown from the Ryzen 7 2700X, but would it be able to match the rather affordable price that AMD is asking for? We will know soon, in the next few months.
