Intel Core i9-9900K benchmarks leaked, beats the Ryzen 7 2700X scores

With the second generation AMD Ryzen processors leaving a trail of dust, Intel has a lot to do in order to catch up with team red. It looks like they have pulled out all the stops and managed to get their Core i9-9900K processor to the front yet again.

Based on some rumours, the Core i9-9900K has managed to score an overall of 9,862 on the Time Spy benchmark with a break down of 9,725 for the graphics score and 10,719 for the CPU score. The test was done using an Asus z370-F Strix Gaming motherboard which is backwards compatible with existing Z370 boards as well as a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. To put the scores into perspective, the chip has managed to beat the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X by more than 1,500 points. The rumours also state that the processor will come with 8-cores and 16-threads, boost clock speeds of 5GHz out-of-the-box but it will only be across two cores and 4.7GHz will be the max across all cores.

These scores have to be taking with a grain of salt as the first time the processor was leaked, it was rumoured to come with the 3.1GHz base clock but the listing shows a 3.6GHz clock speed. This could indicate that the chip that was tested could be an engineering sample or a processor that was overclocked before the test was performed.
