Intel Arc High-Performance Graphics brand announced: First product to launch in 2022

Intel has just launched its new graphics brand, Intel Arc – a lineup of discrete GPUs that will compete with the likes of the NVIDIA GeForce, and AMD Radeon.

“The Arc brand will span into multiple hardware, software, and services, and will span several generations – the first will be based on the Xe HPG microarchitecture, codenamed Alchemist”, says Intel.

The first generation of graphics products will be scalable, and deliver compute efficiency with advanced graphics features such as hardware-based ray tracing, and AI-driver super sampling, along with support for DirectX 12 Ultimate.

Alchemist will first arrive in the first quarter of 2022, and we’re excited to see how it can stack up to the likes of established juggernauts NVIDIA and AMD; with a scarcity of GPU stocks leading to the highly inflated prices, we’re hoping Alchemist will provide a much needed third option for consumers worldwide.
