Intel 11th-Gen Core desktop CPUs launched

Intel has just launched their new 11th-Gen Core desktop CPUs, and you’ll get eight models in total – the pack leader being the 8C/16T Core i9-11900K.

The range of processors go all the way down to the Core i5-11400 which is a 6-core, 12-thread unit. Intel claims that the Cypress Cove chips offer up to a 19% increase in instructions per cycle than its predecessor.

The CPUs now support the PCIe 4.0 interface and up to 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes; on top of that, the chips also support DDR4-3200 memory and features Intel UHD Graphics that run on the Intel Xe architecture.

You also now get support for resizable BAR which makes all of your GPUs memory accessible by the processor, which in turn improves performance across tasks that utilize the GPU.

Speaking of performance, new overclocking features like the Intel Performance Maximizer, Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, and Intel Extreme Memory Profile, are introduced to allow you to more easily squeeze every drop of performance from your CPUs.

At the time of writing, Intel hasn’t announced the availability of their new chips in the country, but according to The Verge, the CPUs will be priced from $182 (about RM748).
