Instagram’s new Polls feature will require more active participation

Instagram has brought in a feature for its Stories which will most likely be widely used within a week of its implementation. Instagram users can now create polls in their Instagram Stories, allowing fellow users to vote between two choices, which encourages better interactivity on Instagram.

Apart from your friends merely viewing, commenting and replying to your Instagram Stories, they can also vote for a poll that you create. The Polls feature on Instagram Stories is only limited to a two option poll for now, but we suppose that is simplicity at its best. Besides, there’s no use crowding Instagram Stories with “unnecessary” features.

With Polls, users can type in their question and customize the answer options instead of having them limited to “Yes” or “No”. After sharing a poll, users will be able to view the voting results in real time. They will also be able to view which of their friends have voted for either option in the poll.

What do you think of Polls? A great addition to Instagram Stories or just another tactic to get us users addicted to social media?
