Instagram is testing a feature that will allow cross-posting Stories to WhatsApp

Instagram is again, going through a testing phase of a new feature that will allow you to cross-post Instagram Stories to WhatsApp, similar to the cross-posting that can be done between Instagram and Facebook. The feature was found by Brazilian users recently, where the feature prompts up on their screen when posting a story.

Its safe to say that the number of people using Stories in WhatsApp pails in comparison to those that use Instagram Stories. It would make sense this feature exist as it would finally give some purpose to WhatsApp stories which most people tend to forget it even exist. Similar to Stories, the video will disappear within 24-hours, users will be able to perform this cross-posting as long as the user connected to Instagram has a WhatsApp account.

Instagram has confirmed that they are still testing the feature to make sure everything goes smoothly when it releases. It is unsure how long this feature has been tested or when the testing phase is going to be over. It does seem like it would eventually end up coming to other users as they have managed to make it a success with cross-posting to Facebook.
