Remember those days where Facebook comments are often a mess? That was before the social media platform decided to tidy up on its comments section for its post, by putting them into threads. This means that when you reply to a comment, a conversation thread will form automatically from the main comment. That feature was implemented back in 2013, and it looks like Instagram is about to follow suit.
This is definitely not a surprise as Instagram is owned by Facebook. To neaten conversations and comments on Instagram posts, the app will be introducing comment threads to keep the conversation going. Currently, a “reply” button is available in the comments section but tapping on that will only automatically tag the person you’re replying to before you begin typing a comment, turning the reply into an extra comment instead of it being under a thread.
Soon enough, we’ll probably forget the convenience of comment threads on Instagram posts. The feature is currently on the roll out to both the App Store for iOS and the Play Store for Android. Instagram claims that it will roll out globally over the next few weeks.
