IFA 2017: Sony’s new noise cancellation headphones are getting smarter and better

What more can you do to noise cancellation headphones? Sony has the answer by announcing three new models to its 1000X noise cancellation headphones at IFA 2017, these new headphones are the first to have a companion app that supports an activity-recognition feature called the “Adaptive Sound Control, which switches to your preferred noise cancellation settings automatically when it detects a specific activity. In addition, Sony has also included the world’s first ‘Atmospheric Pressure Optimising’ feature onto these new headphones, which is particularly useful on flights and used to analyse atmospheric pressure of your surroundings to optimise noise cancelling performance.

Customers will have three form factors to choose from, the cord free WF-1000X, the behind-the-neck WI-1000X, and the over-ear WH-1000XM2. The WF-1000X is made for those who doesn’t want tangling cables and fits snugly into ears, which is great for workouts. The WI-1000X and WH-1000MX2 have great battery life and supports Hi-Res audio streaming codec such as aptX HD and LDAC, both headphones have wired listening options, with the WI-1000X can achieve up to 14 hours with noise cancellation enabled and the WH-1000MX2 up to 40 hours with noise cancellation enabled.

Sony Malaysia has announced that the WF-1000X, WI-1000X, WH-1000XM2 will be available in October 2017, no pricing has been mentioned as of now.
