IFA 2016: LG unveils a 34-inch curved gaming monitor with AMD FreeSync

IFA in Berlin is happening in just a few days away and here’s the first bit of news from LG, the Korean firm will be showing off a 34-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor (34UC79G) at the show floor, not only it looks gorgeously big but it also packs a bunch of specs that will make you drool. For instance, LG has fitted an IPS panel that produces a UltraWide QHD+ resolution (3840×1600) and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate that’s managed by AMD FreeSync, that means you can actually game on a big screen without getting dizzy after a while.

As the world’s first 144Hz IPS 21:9 Curved UltraWide gaming monitor, the 34UC79G combines a blindingly fast refresh rate with advanced one millisecond Motion Blur Reduction. The monitor boasts seamless image transitions without annoying afterimages and the IPS display delivers accurate color expression from any angle without distortion. With features such as Black Stabilizer and Dynamic Action Sync, the 34UC79G is specifically designed to meet the needs of today’s gamers. Black Stabilizer provides extra clear contrast, allowing viewers to detect darker objects hidden in hard to see areas. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag so that users can enjoy fast-paced gameplay without any delays.

On the other hand, LG has also announced a 38-inch ultrawide curved monitor for professionals, the 38UC99 features the same resolution as its gaming sibling and has a wide color gamut that covers 99% of the sRGB color space, it is also the world’s first curved monitor to feature a USB Type-C port, which allows data transfers and charging of many recent smartphones and hard drives, the monitor has two powerful built-in 10W Bluetooth compatible speakers that will offer rich bass frequency on the 85Hz range.

LG has not announced any pricing or release dates for its new monitors, but we are assuming that they should be here by end of Q4 this year and they won’t be priced cheap.
