Huawei's Honor teases Honor V8 ahead of launch, dual-camera setup

Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei, has uploaded a teaser onto Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, also announcing the launch date for next month. The handset teased in the image is of the Honor V8, which will likely be the successor for the Honor 7, which has sold quite well last year.

Based on the teaser image, the Honor V8 will most probably feature a dual-camera setup. Dual-camera setups were featured on the modular LG G5, and Huawei’s own P9 and P9 Plus which were announced just two weeks ago. So far, the dual-camera is the only element exposed in the teaser. Rumor has it that the Honor V8 won’t be using lenses from Leica like on the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Instead, the setup is said to consist of two 12MP sensors each.

Other rumors state that the V8 will be packing 4GB of RAM alongside Huawei’s home-grown HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, the same chip underneath the hood of the Huawei Mate 8. The Honor V8 will be sporting a fingerprint sensor too, since it was already seen on the Honor 7 and the Honor 5X. The device is set to be unveiled at Beijing on the 10th of May. Till then, stay tuned!
