Huawei wants to release the first foldable smartphone before Samsung

SAMSUNG CSC

We know that Samsung is ready to launch a foldable phone next year, signs point to it being the Galaxy X phone but it has been revealed that the Galaxy X will be the company’s first gaming phone. Now, it is being said that the foldable phone will be the Galaxy F.

Samsung’s foldable phone is expected to launch in early 2019 but it looks like they have another company which is high on their tail of releasing a foldable phone. Huawei is also in the race to release a foldable phone and they have plans to release one before Samsung does. We have reported previously that the company has plans to release a foldable phone in 2019 but the date was not confirmed. The Chinese phone manufacturer is partnering with a display supplier called BOE for the flexible OLED screens. However, the first batch of phones will be limited, as they estimated that 20,000 to 30,000 units or less will be available to the first wave of customers.

For now, we have no information on the specs or the price of the phone but Yuanta Investment Consulting analyst Jeff Pu has said that the phone will release “very early 2019”.
