Huawei P9 sales exceed 12 million units

After hitting the 10 million mark right before 2017, Huawei has once again boasted its sales figures for its 2016 Huawei P9 flagship series. The company’s dual camera smartphone has proven to be a success since its launch early last year, sparking the slew of dual camera handsets by Huawei and its subsidiary Honor. Huawei has reported that it has now sold more than 12 million units of the P9.

This new figure comes a little less than a year after the Huawei P9 went on sale. 10 million was the reported sales target for the Chinese manufacturer, and that milestone has been achieved when we graced the new year. This has definitely shown that Huawei’s efforts to expand globally hasn’t gone in vain. Although still far from being comparable with the sales of Samsung and Apple’s phones, Huawei has proven to be a rising giant in the smartphone market.

Over 12 million units of Huawei P9 sold will mean that the bar has been set pretty high for the newly launched Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. However, Huawei isn’t being too ambitious, setting the same 10 million target like it did for the P9. The Huawei P10 looks very much identical to the P9, and is said to be a more refined and polished version of its predecessor, this time expanding the Leica branding to the front facing camera. How well do you think the Huawei P10 will sell?
