HUAWEI nova 5 and 5i are set to launch on June 21, allegedly with quad camera setups

We’ve recently found out that HUAWEI will be launching the nova 5 and 5i, but now it has been confirmed that the phones will be launching on June 21.

The Weibo post included a short video and also revealed that the Chinese boy band TFBoys will attending the event. In addition, there’s also a contest for HUAWEI fans where they can get tickets to the launch event.

We’ve previously talked about the nova 5 that will come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display, a Kirin 980 chipset, a 4,200mAh battery and a 48MP main camera. Now, new information have surfaced suggesting that the phone will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and is likely to be equipped with up to 8GB RAM. While we were suspecting a triple camera setup on its back, recent leaks pointed out that the nova 5 may even come with four cameras on its rear, and its battery will be sporting 44W fast charging.

Meanwhile, the nova 5i has also been revealed by TENAA. It comes with a 6.4-inch LCD screen supporting FHD+ resolution and houses a Kirin 710 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will have a quad-camera setup with a 24MP main camera, an 8MP secondary sensor and two 2MP lens. On the front, the nova 5i houses a 24MP selfie shooter. This only further convinces us that the nova 5 will have a quad camera setup. The nova 5i also comes with a smaller battery size of 3,900mAh.
