HUAWEI might release two new colour variants for Mate 20 Pro this coming Chinese New Year

HUAWEI may soon launch two new colour variants of the Mate 20 Pro flagship smartphone in China.

The news of the new colour variant was leaked online by a Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, which shows an alleged image showing the upcoming Fragrant Red Colour Mate 20 Pro.

Besides Fragrant Red, it was also revealed that the Mate 20 Pro will also be available in Comet Blue.

The Mate 20 Pro Fragrant Red colour variant features a gradient finish.

While no other details have been leaked online yet, rumors have it that the Mate 20 Pro Fragrant Red and Comet Blue colour variants might debut sometime before or after Chinese New Year in China, which falls on 5 February 2019.

Currently, the Mate 20 Pro is available in Bright Black, Sapphire Blue, Cherry Pink, Enamel, and Aurora colour options in China.

Just to recap, the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with 1440 x 3120 pixels Quad HD+ resolution and runs on a powerful HiSilicon Kirin 980 7nm octa-core processor.

It also comes in three different memory configurations which includes 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. It also includes a Nano Memory card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.

One of the key highlights of the Mate 20 Pro is its 40MP + 20MP + 8MP triple-camera setup on the back.

For selfies, the flagship handset is equipped with a 24MP snapper on the front.

Connectivity-wise, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C, 4G VoLTE, and an IR blaster.

The internals of the handset are fueled by a large 4200mAh capacity battery with fast charging support. In terms of software, the Mate 20 Pro currently runs on Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0.

There’s no information on when the new colours would be available worldwide, but until then, we shall wait for the next official announcement by HUAWEI.
