Huawei Mate 9 to sport dual camera setup by Leica

While most people are keeping their eyes peeled for the unveiling of the LG V20 and Apple’s new iPhones, followed by a Google refresh of its phones next month, said to carry the Pixel and Pixel XL title, Huawei is also expected to update its own Mate lineup, with a possible Mate 9 launch two months from now. The company has launched the P9 with a “Leica authorized” dual camera setup, and its subsidiary Honor has recently launched the Honor 8 with a dual rear camera as well. Chances are that the Huawei Mate 9 will be sporting a similar camera setup as well, according to Chinese industry analysts.

According to Gizmo China, a couple of industry analysts have predicted that the Huawei Mate 9 will be sporting a dual camera configuration with OIS and analog zoom. Like the P9 series, one lens is said to be capturing color images and the other to capture monochrome images. The P9’s dual camera, though gotten a lot of stick due to it being “not exactly” cameras by Leica, has proven that such setup is capable of capturing impressive shots, with more liberty when it comes to adjusting the aperture for bokeh effects.

The cameras on the Mate 9 is said to be supplied by Leica as well, if not at least authorized. Let’s hope that Huawei handles it better this time. Other rumored specs include a HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset, fast charging support and being shipped running Android 7.0 Nougat. Do note that these are just rumors and wild speculations, so we trust that you won’t take them very seriously. Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
