Although the Huawei Mate 8 was launched last November, many have speculated the Mate 9’s unveiling to be at IFA 2016, less than two weeks ago. It appears that Huawei will be respecting the year long wait before the annual refresh of its Mate lineup, as a source from Weibo has claimed the Mate 9 to be launched on the 8th of November later this year.
So far, the Huawei Mate 9’s rumored specs have not disappoint, with a 6-inch display at QHD, an upgrade from 1080p resolution. The Mate 9 is also said to sport a yet to be released HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, which will eventually make the phone more powerful than the company’s P9 series that was launched earlier this year. Alongside the processor is either 4GB or 6GB of RAM with generous onboard storage at 128GB and 256GB respectively. Apart from that, the Mate 9 is also rumored to feature a similar dual camera configuration like the one seen on the P9, if not the exact same one.
As far as pricing goes, the Weibo source has claimed that the 4GB/128GB model of the Huawei Mate 9 will cost CNY 3,899 (RM2,418.90). The higher end 6GB/256GB variant on the other hand, will set you back 4,699 CNY (RM2,915.21). The premium model is said to come in a larger variety of color options, with new colors such as ceramic white and glossy back being added onto the current selection of champagne gold, space gray, moonlight silver and mocha brown. Till then, we shall countdown the days till the rumored November 8th launch.
