The launch of the Huawei Mate 30 series is tomorrow, but we’ve got the most concrete look of the device already.

Hands on images have appeared on the internet from China – it seems like there was a pre-launch event to showcase the phone to the local media. Two devices were present – the Huawei Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro.

Identifying the two is simple – the regular Mate 30 looks to have noticeable bezels all around with a double lens notch; meanwhile the Mate 30 Pro have curved edges with only a thin chin at the bottom plus a wider notch at the top, since it houses what looks to be three selfie lenses.

Moving around the back, we see that the circle camera module is confirmed with four lenses – at least for the Mate 30 Pro model. The module is accented with an aluminium rim that shimmers under light. The back panel material looks to be all glass too.

In terms of specs – we also see that the Mate 30 will come with a Kirin 990 chipset, a 4,500mAh battery with up to 40W fast charging and 27W wireless charging support. The phone runs on EMUI 10 but it is unsure if it will sport Android 10 or Harmony when it arrives here.

Based on previous reports, it’s likely that the Pro variant will sport a double 40MP camera, an 8MP telephoto lens and a ToF camera. The display is a whopping 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED water fall display – reminiscent of the Vivo Nex 3’s.

We’re not going to get into it that much now, we’ll be watching the live stream of the Mate 30 series launch tomorrow, so keep an eye out on our update.
