Huawei launches the Mate 20 series from RM 2,799

Huawei is bringing the Mate 20 series to Malaysia by having a launch event for the series for two days at Pavilion starting today. Many Huawei fans had queued up early in the morning, waiting for the launch to begin.

The Mate 20 series runs on the Kirin 980 which is much faster than the Kirin 970, and the Mate 20 has a 5.53-inch LCD FHD+ display whereas the Mate 20 Pro has a 6.4-inch OLED QHD+ display. The Mate 20 comes with 4/6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and the Mate 20 Pro comes with 6/8GB RAM with 128/256GB storage. On the other hand, the Mate 20 X has a 7.21-inch OLED FHD+ display and comes in 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.

 

The few new features of the Mate 20 series are the debut of the NanoMicro card made by Huawei instead of the usual microSD card, the in-display fingerprint sensor that is only available in the Mate 20 Pro, and the reverse charging in Mate 20 Pro that allows you to wirelessly charge other devices with the Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 20 and Mate 20 X uses 2D face unlock whereas the Mate 20 Pro uses 3D face unlock.

Aside from that, the Huawei Matebook X Pro and Matebook D are also seen on the event, and both are powered by 8th Gen Intel Core processor. The Matebook X Pro has a FullView display with 8/16GB RAM with 256/512GB SSD whereas the Matebook D has a 14-inch 1080p display with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD, in addition to both having the fingerprint unlock feature.

The Mate 20 starts at the price of RM 2,799 and the Mate 20 Pro starts at the price of RM 3,599. The Mate 20 X will cost RM 3,199 onwards but it will on ly be launched in November. Apart from that, the MateBook D costs RM 2,999 and the Matebook X Pro with the i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD costs RM 4,999. Those interested in higher specs will have to pay the price of RM 6,999 for the Matebook X Pro with the i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

The first 30 customers will get a AC Wired Earpiece worth RM 295 and the first 1000 customers will get a DJI Tello worth RM 469. Not only that, those who purchase the Mate 20 Pro will receive free Huawei Wireless Charger and those who purchase the Mate 20 will get a free Huawei Soundstone. For customers who purchase the Matebook X Pro are entitled to free Huawei Sleeve, Backpack and Bluetooth Mouse and those who purchase the Matebook D will get free Huawei Backpack and Bluetooth Mouse.
