With the success of the Huawei Nove 2i which the company launched last year, they brought to the market a qual-camera phone and managed to price it just above the RM1,000 mark. The phone was an instant hit among users and with that, Huawei decided to create the next step in the Nova family of phones with the Huawei Nova 2 Lite, targeting the young and dynamic, it has managed to bring functions that will peek the interest of photography enthusiasts.
The main focus of the phone is its camera, as it comes with a 13MP + 2MP dual-rear camera setup, where the 13MP sensor acts as the main camera and the 2MP sensor provides the bokeh effect with the wide aperture mode. On the front, is an 8MP camera with selfie toning flash which detects the light on the subject’s face and adjusts the brightness to bring a natural-looking selfie which produces soft light in low-light conditions.
Specs wise, it comes with a 5.88-inch Fullview HD+ display with a 2.5D curved glass panel, Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage which is expandable up to 256GB. Huawei was generous enough to offer a SIM tray that will fit tow SIM cards and a microSD card. It also comes with EMUI 8.0 alongside Android 8.0 which brings AI capabilities that are seen in EMUI to this budget phone. Powering the device is a 3,000mAh battery which Huawei claims can offer 13 hours of video playback or 58 hours of music listening which thanks to PowerSaving 6.0 that uses power saving technology in both the hardware and software.
There is also face unlock, where the device will detect 1,024 feature points on your face to get an accurate face unlock feature. It will take just milliseconds to get on the phone and if face unlock is not your thing, there is the fingerprint sensor 4.0 which unlocks the phone in just 0.35 seconds.
The Nova 2 Lite will be available front 23 March 2018 and comes with a low price tag of only RM799. You can get the phone from all Huawei Experience Stores, authorized dealers, Celcom and Maxis authorized stores. Huawei will also be giving away complimentary Huawei travel bags while stocks last.
