Huawei can finally resume buying US technology

Huawei is now saved, all thanks to a meeting that took place in Osaka between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump, the company is now finally allowed to purchase US technology to develop its products as usual, while the US will cease to charge any tariffs on Chinese-made product imports.

However, the ban lift doesn’t entirely mean that Huawei could still safely sell its devices with Android preloaded, as Trump merely says that ‘US companies can sell their equipment to Huawei’ and ‘We are talking about equipment where there’s no national security problem with it’.

Trump adds on that these American made products are very complex and have allowed Huawei to continue to purchase them.

Therefore, this could only mean that Huawei could continue to purchase US made chips and components for this lift, but there isn’t confirmation that Huawei could continue to manufacture Android phones and start selling its devices in the US, but the former limitation could be eventually lifted as discussions between the two countries are in place.

Also, no details were given if Huawei could continue to supply its telecommunication equipment to US carriers for the implementation of 5G, as this will also affect the decision of other countries to un-ban the use of Huawei network equipment.

At this point of time, Google hasn’t reinstated Huawei’s partnership on the official Android website. However, the good news is that you no longer need to worry about the future of your Huawei smartphones.

Looks like we shall be seeing the new Mate 30 series soon.
