Huawei 5G Experiential Zone at Pavilion Elite offers a taste of what 5G can do – like 1.3Gbps download speeds and smooth cloud gaming

At this point, 5G is imminent – the newest connectivity tech has taken off elsewhere, while we’re just starting to have a taste of it in Malaysia. And if you’d like to taste more of it (we know it sounds weird, but just roll with it), Huawei’s 5G Experiential Zone in Pavilion Elite should do the trick.

In collaboration with Maxis, the experiential zone can be found right outside the Huawei Experience Store in the shopping mall where you’ll be able to test out crazy 5G download speeds, experience cloud VR gaming and more.

During a demo presentation, Huawei used the Mate 20 X 5G to showcase a download speed of 1,300Mbps (1.3Gbps) as well as a download speed of 90.6Mbps – that’s faster than the fastest home broadband you can get in Malaysia.

This is achieved via Huawei’s Indoor 5G LampSite where a node attached to the ceiling provides 5G internet coverage to a small area around it.

With network speeds this fast, Huawei also showed off cloud VR gaming that was latency free. You can head there to test it out yourself. This comes just before the launch of the Huawei Mate 30 series which introduced the Mate 30 Pro 5G smartphone with the Kirin 990 5G chipset – moving forward, it’s clear that 5G will be the new standard, and the Huawei 5G Experiential Zone should give you an idea of what you can expect. You can visit the zone from today until October 6.
