HTC has unveil the new HTC U11 offering a new way to interact with smartphones

HTC has finally unveiled the uniquely different smartphone, the HTC U11 today at a live show event. The company has put a huge emphasis on the way you interact with the phone through the squeeze feature that comes built into it, with a squeeze of the middle-bottom part of the phone multiple actions can be carried out such as launching an app, taking a picture, recording a video and more.

HTC put a lot of thought into the squeeze function of the phone, by adding 4 sensors on both sides of the phone giving users a more accurate detection, the phone can also be set to perform certain actions depending on a light pressure or hard pressure of the squeeze applied and when the phone is inside your pocket, the squeeze function will be disable. The level of pressure can be set on the phone to cater to the different pressure of each individual.

With every purchase of the U11, HTC will include Usonic headphones which is connected to the phone via the USB-C port as there is no 3.5mm jack. The headphone’s unique feature is it can detect the sounds in your ear canal giving each individual a unique sound that is the best for you. The headphones also has active noise canceling so that your music listening is not interrupted by anything. In-box, the headphone is accompanied with a 3.5mm adapter and a clear case to store the headphones.

The next thing that HTC emphasize during the unveil is the camera and the software that supports it. The back camera comes with a 12MP UltraPixel 3 with OIS and EIS giving you a more better shots and the front camera is a wide-angle 16MP. The company also showed of a new feature called Acoustic Focus which will increase the volume of a subject when focus and zoomed in, thanks to the 4 microphones on the phone which also allows 360 degrees audio to be recorded. The camera on the phone was giving a 90 score by DXO which makes it the highest scored phone recorded by them.

HTC has also mention that the phone will come with two voice assistants, one being Google Assistant and the other being Amazon Alexa which both can be activated by saying the key phrase that activates them. They have also added a similar function as Google Now which they are calling HTC Sense Companion, it can detect your daily behavior by understanding the contents of your phone. For example, the phone will recommend that you charge your phone in the afternoon due to a busy night schedule you have or recommend places to eat based on the dinner plans you saved into the phone.

Other things is that the phone has a glass back which has evaporated minerals and other ingredients that gives the phone different shades of colour when looking at a different angle thanks to their Liquid Surface technology. Dust and waterproof with a IP level of 67, 5.5 inch quad HD display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage expandable up to 2TB of space.

The HTC U11 will come in 5 colours, Amazing Sliver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Solar Red and Ice White and will be available region-specific next week with a full launch early June. For more information check out HTC’s website here.
