HTC One M9 finally gets its Nougat update

The HTC One M9 happened to be mediocre at best, falling short of the glory days when HTC launched the One M7, as the company continues to struggle in the mobile sector. The Taiwanese manufacturer has finally begun the rollout of a software update that is based on Google’s latest version of Android, Android Nougat for its 2015 flagship.

The update happens to apply exclusively to HTC One M9 units in the US for the time being, but only limited to unlocked units. This means that if you have purchased your One M9 under a carrier, you won’t be getting your share of Android Nougat just yet. So if your handset is unlocked, you can start manually checking for updates if the OTA software update hasn’t been rolled out to you.

Do note that if you happen to be running the 4.14.617.6 software version, this new Nougat update is a newer version of the same number. Users will have to set aside approximately 20 minutes for the update. Also, do make sure that your device had been charged till at 35 percent battery at the very least. The new software will be ran based on Android Nougat 7.0, and consists of November 2016 Android Security Updates. Have you gotten your update yet?
