HONOR X9b Review
Sporting a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that pushes 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, the HONOR X9b’s boasts one of the best displays within its price segment that can reach a peak brightness of 1200 nits, while offering 1920Hz PWM Dimming to reduce eye strain when viewing in low brightness.
The HONOR X9b is the first device to be equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip that’s paired to 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, it offers a 30% performance bump over the previous model that uses a Snapdragon 695 chip, its battery has also been bumped to 5800mAh that offers up to 3 days of moderate usage, though Super Charging wattage is a modest 30W, which is still relatively fast for juicing up a big battery.
Camera wise, you are getting an upgraded 108MP main, 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras on the back, the main camera will also support 4K video recording all thanks to the phone’s more powerful SoC, while selfies will be taken care of by a 16MP camera that takes 108p videos.
The reason why HONOR has made the phone so durable than before is due to the new All-Angle Ultra Bounce display, which offers three layers of protection that ensures the screen will endure bumps from every dropped angle up to 1.5m high, which in torture test video we did, the phone can indeed survive a series of extreme tests.
The HONOR X9b retails for RM1,499 in Malaysia and HONOR is offering a 365-day crack replacement warranty for both its front and back glass, though the phone will also be available in a Sunrise Gold color Vegan Leather back, it will also be available in Titanium Silver and Midnight Black, preorders begin today at HiHonor.com, HONOR stores and authorized dealers, while general availability will be on 10th November onwards.
