The phone with the toughest curved OLED display is set to launch four days away from the New Year, as Honor Malaysia has sent out the media invite as the launch of the Honor X9a 5G will be conducted over a livestream at the brand’s official Facebook and YouTube channel on 4th January 2023, 7pm.
Honor has continuously bragged about the durability of the phone’s display for the past few weeks, while it is essentially a minor refresh of the Honor X9 and powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor, there is still lot to love about this mid-range device aside from its well-constructed built, such as its 6.67-inch curved OLED display that refreshes at 120Hz and features 1920Hz PWM dimming, a better camera system that comprises of a 64MP main, 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensor, and a large 5100mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging.
When we attended the product briefing, Honor Malaysia officials said that the Honor X9a 5G’s glass is on par with the Huawei Mate 50 Pro’s Kunlun glass, though they will not confirm if it is obtained from a similar supplier and didn’t have a marketing name for it either, it has however gone through rigorous lab tests including repeated 1-meter drops on marble and concrete floors, multiple-angle rolling drops, and 10,000 times of micro-drop tests.
The only thing left to know is the price of the Honor X9a 5G, as it is directly competing with devices such as the Vivo V25 and Samsung Galaxy A53, hence it is most certain that Honor won’t try to price the phone past the RM1500 mark.
