Honor Malaysia introduces X9 5G, X8, X7 smartphones and MagicBook 16

While we are still anticipating the local launch of the Honor Magic 4, Honor Malaysia is warming us up with the introduction of three new entry-level phones and MagicBook 16 laptop.

Leading the pack, the Honor X9 5G is a great looking device that comes with a very Mate 40 inspired design on the back with a frosted back and big round camera module, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor and comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage with no memory expansion, it has 6.81-inch display that refreshes at 120Hz, a 4800mAh battery that supports 66W Honor SuperCharge, triple cameras that comprise of a 48MP primary, a 2MP macro and 2MP depth cameras, which is overall a decent package.

The Honor X8 tones down the specs sheet a little, as it comes with a smaller 6.7-inch display that refreshes at 90Hz, it features a more squarish design with flat corners that still makes it look rather premium, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor and comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of non expandable storage, it surprisingly comes with a quad-camera system as compared to the X9, which comprise of a 64MP primary, a 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth cameras, battery life is still good with a 4000mAh battery that supports a slower but still decent 22.5W Honor SuperCharge.

Moving on to the Honor X7, it features a 6.74-inch HD+ display that refreshes at 90Hz, while it has the same processing power and quad camera system as the X8, it however has 4GB RAM and 128GB of non expandable storage, a larger 5000mAh battery that supports 22.5W Honor SuperCharge, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack that both the X8 and X9 lacks.

The MagicBook 16 is an interesting high performance 16-inch laptop that features a 144Hz display that covers 100% sRGB. Weighing at 1.84kg, powering the laptop is a very capable AMD Ryzen 5800H processor supported by 16GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and 512GB of PCIe SSD, there is however no discrete graphics but the integrated Radeon GPU might still be able to push some frames in lightweight gaming.

The Honor X9 5G will retail at RM1,299 and the non 5G version will retail at RM1,099, while the X8 and X7 will retail at RM899 and RM699 respectively.

The Honor MagicBook 16 will retail at RM4,299 and will come with a 1-year extended warranty.
